The Ardenya Massif is a group of mountains in the Costa Brava area of Catalonia, Spain. It's also known as the Cadiretes Massif. These mountains are part of the larger Catalan Coastal Range.
The tallest peak in the Ardenya Massif is Puig de les Cadiretes, which stands at 519 meters (about 1,700 feet) high. Other important peaks include Montagut (505 m), Montllor (470 m), Ruïra (444 m), and Puig de les Cols (416 m).

Exploring the Ardenya Massif's Geography
The Ardenya Massif is a solid block of mountains. It has rocky parts near the sea and flat, forested areas to the west. The mountains are mostly made of granite rock.
These mountain ranges stretch from the northeast to the southwest. They meet the sea between Sant Feliu de Guixols and Lloret de Mar. To the west, they reach as far as Caldes de Malavella.
Forests and Water in the Mountains
Most of the mountains are covered in thick forests. You can find trees like cork oak, holm oak, and pine. There are also many Mediterranean shrubs.
Valleys in the massif have streams that flow during certain times of the year. The area has a typical Mediterranean climate. However, the mountains help collect water all year round. They also get a lot of humidity and rain from winds coming off the sea.

The special conditions here mean you can find unique plants and animals. Some species are usually found in colder parts of Europe or near the Atlantic Ocean. This makes the Ardenya Massif a very interesting place for nature lovers.
Protected Natural Area
The Ardenya-Cadiretes massif is a special natural area. It covers almost all of the Tossa de Mar municipality. It also includes parts of Sant Feliu, Santa Cristina d'Aro, Llagostera, Vidreres, Caldes de Malavella, and Lloret de Mar.
A very rugged part of the coast, more than six kilometers long, is also protected. This helps keep the beautiful natural environment safe for everyone to enjoy.
Main Mountain Ranges
The Cadiretes Massif is the most important mountain range within the Ardenya Massif. Other ranges in this area include the L'Ardenya Massif itself, Carcaixells d'en Dalmau, Muntanyes de Llobatera, Muntanya d'en Bonet, Serra de les Comes, and Serra d'Aiguafina.
