Morten Mabunda Lindberg (born September 23, 1965 – died March 26, 2019) was a famous Danish person. He was best known by his stage name, "Master Fatman." He was a very creative person who did many different jobs. He worked as a comedian, musician, singer, and disc jockey (DJ). He was also a host, actor, and even a filmmaker.

In 2010, Morten married Herminia Mabunda from Mozambique. He decided to take her last name, Mabunda. They had five children together. Master Fatman passed away suddenly on March 26, 2019, when he was 53 years old.

Master Fatman's Creative Life

Morten Lindberg was involved in many creative projects for a long time. He used his stage name "Master Fatman" for the first time in March 1987. He chose this name while performing, trying to bring the spirit of the famous entertainer Liberace into his act. He used other names too, but "Master Fatman" became his most popular one.

Lindberg had many different interests. He wrote for magazines and helped publish them. He also worked in theatre, film, TV, radio, and music. He often used humor and a bit of irony in his work. He was also truly interested in art and loved to express himself creatively.

In the early 1990s, he became interested in acting and filmmaking. One of his first projects was a short film that later became very popular. This was the only time Lindberg directed a film. However, he continued his interest in movies by acting and writing.

In 1993, after traveling in India, Lindberg started a political group called "Det Kosmiske Parti" (The Cosmic Party). The next year, he ran in the Copenhagen city elections. He called himself Tykmesteren, a guru who preached love. He almost won, but he didn't make it. He kept playing this cosmic guru role and was known for it afterward.

Music and Dance

Master Fatman also participated in the Danish Eurovision Song Contest in 1995. He sang his song "Jordisk Kærlighed" (Earthly Love), but he did not win. In 2006, he joined the dance show Vild med dans on TV2. He wore many fun and eye-catching costumes, including an Elvis outfit.

As a musician, Lindberg was part of many different groups. He played instruments and sang. Some of his bands included Master Fatman and his Freedom Fighters, Master Fatman Guru Orchestra, and Lindberg Hemmer Foundation. Most of these bands were not very famous.

Lindberg loved many kinds of music. He was a big fan of jazz, especially the Brazilian Bossa style. He even had his own jazz radio show for several years on the Danish Radio (DR). He also often hosted jazz events and shows in Denmark.

Travel and Helping Others

Lindberg traveled a lot to experience different cultures around the world. He felt a special connection to India, Brazil, Mozambique, and France. In Brazil, where he lived for some time, he saw how hard life was in the favelas (poor neighborhoods). This made him want to help.

Because of this, Lindberg started and supported orphanages and child care projects in Brazil. He wanted to help children in need. He also owned a second home in Mozambique with his wife.

Master Fatman's Love for Food

Food, especially vegetarian food, was a big interest for Lindberg for most of his life. He became a vegetarian in his early twenties. He hosted several TV shows about food and cooking for Danish National TV DR.

On his radio show "Croque Monsieur," he shared his love for French food. He especially loved cheese and cakes. In 2017, he even released a cookbook based on his radio show.

Lindberg's public image as a larger man was on purpose. It started as a way to push back against the popular idea of being slim in the 1980s. He ate more cakes, drank cream, and even ate raw bacon as part of his stage acts. He gained a lot of weight, and it became part of his public image. Lindberg was looking for happiness and "cosmic love," not material things. He believed that being slim simply did not look good for men.
