Christian Bible part | New Testament |
Matthew 2:9 is the ninth verse in the second chapter of the Gospel of Matthew. This book is part of the New Testament in the Christian Bible. In this verse, wise men, also known as the magi, are on a special journey. They have been sent by King Herod to find the baby Jesus in Bethlehem. This verse describes how they follow a special star to find the young child.
The Magi's Journey
After speaking with King Herod, the wise men left Jerusalem. They were looking for the new king of the Jews. As they traveled, they saw the same bright star they had seen before in the east. This star began to move in front of them. It guided their way.
Following the Star
The star continued to lead the wise men. It moved ahead of them until it reached a specific place. The star then stopped directly over the house where the young child Jesus was. This showed the wise men exactly where to find him. This event is an important part of the Christmas story. It shows how the Magi were guided to Jesus.
