The Magi Find Their Way
This verse is part of a larger story about the birth of Jesus. The Magi were wise travelers from the East. They studied the stars and believed a new star meant a new king had been born.
Their Search for a New King
The Magi traveled a long way to find this new king. They first went to Jerusalem and asked King Herod where the new king of the Jews was. Herod was a powerful ruler, but he was worried about someone else becoming king.
The Star's Guidance
Herod told the Magi to go to Bethlehem, a town near Jerusalem. He also asked them to report back to him after they found the child. As the Magi left Jerusalem, the special star they had seen before appeared again. It moved ahead of them, showing them the way.
A Moment of Great Joy
Matthew 2:10 tells us how the Magi felt when they saw the star again. The Bible says:
- When they saw the star,
- they rejoiced with
- exceeding great joy.
This means they were incredibly happy and excited. The star was a sign that they were on the right path. It showed them they were close to finding the baby Jesus. This joy helped them continue their journey with hope and excitement.
