Matthew McGrory (born May 17, 1973 – died August 9, 2005) was an American actor. He was famous for being very tall, standing at 7 feet 6 inches (about 2.29 meters). Because of his height, he was recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest actor.
Matthew often played characters who were physically large in movies. Some of his well-known roles include Tiny Firefly in the horror films House of 1000 Corpses (2003) and The Devil's Rejects (2005). He also played Karl the Giant in the fantasy movie Big Fish (2003). Besides being the tallest actor, McGrory also held Guinness World Records for having the biggest feet and the longest toe.

Early Life and Growing Up
Matthew McGrory was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania. His parents were George and Maureen McGrory. Matthew was already over 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall when he finished kindergarten!
He continued to grow, reaching a height of 7 feet 6 inches. He also had very large feet, wearing size 29.5 shoes. Matthew studied pre-law at Widener University and also studied Criminal Justice at West Chester University.
Matthew McGrory's Acting Career
Matthew McGrory's amazing height helped him get noticed. He started appearing on famous TV shows like The Howard Stern Show in 1996. He was also a guest on daytime talk shows hosted by Maury Povich, Jenny Jones, and Oprah Winfrey.
His unique look also led him to appear in music videos. He was in Iron Maiden's video for "The Wicker Man" and Marilyn Manson's 1999 video for "Coma White". You can also spot him in Blondie's 2003 music video for "Good Boys."
Because of his height and deep voice, Matthew was often asked to play giant characters in movies. Matthew McGrory passed away on August 9, 2005. He was 32 years old. He died in Sherman Oaks, California, where he lived with his girlfriend Melissa. The cause of his death was congestive heart failure.
The film The Devil's Rejects, directed by Rob Zombie, was dedicated to Matthew McGrory's memory.
