Mawra Hussain (Urdu: ماورہ حسین) is a talented Pakistani actress and model. She is better known by her professional name, Mawra Hocane. She was born on September 28, 1992. Mawra mostly works in Urdu television shows in Pakistan.

Mawra started her acting journey in 2011 with a TV show called Khichari Salsa. She also acted in a Bollywood movie, Sanam Teri Kasam, in 2016. Her first Pakistani movie was the fun comedy Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 in 2018. She has received awards for her acting, including the Hum Award for Best Actress for her role in Neem.

Mawra Hussain was born in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, on September 28, 1992. She has an older sister, Urwa Hocane, who is also an actress. Her brother-in-law is the actor Farhan Saeed.

Mawra changed how her last name was spelled when she was in 7th grade. She changed "Hussain" to "Hocane" to make it unique. She also studied law and earned a degree from the University of London.

Her Acting Journey

Before becoming a famous actress, Mawra started as a theatre artist. She also worked as a VJ (video jockey) at ARY Musik, where she hosted music shows.

Mawra has starred in many Pakistani TV dramas. Some of her early popular shows include Aahista Aahista, Ik Tamanna Lahasil Si, and Nikhar Gaye Gulab Sare. In 2014, she played the main character, Bushra, in the show Mein Bushra. She played a strong and capable daughter in that series. Mawra has said this role is one of her favorites.

Mawra also made her debut in Hindi films with the romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam in 2016. In this movie, she acted alongside Harshvardhan Rane. She played a librarian from South India. Critics praised her performance, saying she was a "delight to watch."

In 2018, Mawra starred in her first Pakistani movie, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2. This was a romantic comedy where she acted with Fahad Mustafa. This movie became one of the highest-grossing Pakistani films around the world. People said Mawra was a great addition to the film.
