Farhan Saeed (born on September 14, 1984) is a talented Pakistani singer, songwriter, actor, and businessman. He used to be the main singer for the Pakistani band called Jal. Farhan also owns a restaurant in Lahore called Cafe Rock. He sings in both Urdu and Punjabi languages. Farhan started his acting career in 2014 with the TV drama De Ijazat Jo Tu.

Farhan Saeed became very well-known after starring in the drama Udaari. For this role, he was nominated for an award. He gained even more fans with his roles in Suno Chanda (2018), Suno Chanda 2 (2019), and Mere Humsafar (2021-2022). He won an award for Best Actor for Suno Chanda. Farhan also made his first movie appearance in Tich Button in 2022.

Farhan Saeed's Early Life and Career

Farhan Saeed Butt was born into a Punjabi-Kashmiri family. Both of his parents are doctors. Farhan loved music from a young age. He enjoyed listening to bands like Vital Signs and Junoon. His own music often mixed pop and folk styles.

As a teenager, he studied at the Keynesian Institute of Management and Sciences (KIMS). Later, he went to the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences to study Computer Science. There, he met his future bandmates, Atif Aslam and Goher Mumtaz. Together, they formed the band Jal, which became famous across Asia.

In 2011, news came out that Farhan had left the band Jal. This news surprised many of his fans. He then started his own solo music career. Farhan also opened his restaurant, Cafe Rock, in Gulberg, Lahore. This restaurant is like a Hard Rock Cafe. It gives new bands and young artists a place to perform and show their talent.

Farhan Saeed first became famous when he joined the pop rock band Jal in Lahore. He was only 17 years old when he became their lead singer. Farhan took over as the vocalist in 2003. The previous singer, Atif Aslam, had left the band because of different ideas about music.

Farhan Saeed's Solo Music Career

In September 2011, Farhan Saeed told The Express Tribune that he had left Jal. He wanted to start his own solo career. Even though Goher Mumtaz offered him to stay with Jal while also doing solo work, Farhan decided to go his own way. On September 8, 2011, Jal's guitarist, Goher Mumtaz, confirmed Farhan's departure and wished him good luck.

Farhan has worked with other artists on his songs. He collaborated with Aima Baig, Adnan Qazi, and Bilal Saeed on the popular song "Na cher malangaan nu". He also released a song with Hania Aamir for Asim Jofa. In 2014, Farhan started singing for Bollywood movies. He sang "Naam-e-Wafa" for the movie Creature 3D. This was a romantic duet with Indian singer Tulsi Kumar.

Farhan Saeed began his acting career in 2014. His first main role was in the Hum TV drama series De Ijazat Jo Tu. He acted alongside Sohai Ali Abro, Saba Hameed, and Javaid Sheikh. After that, he played Mohid Shuja in ARY Digital's Mere Ajnabi with Urwa Hocane. He also played the main role of Arsh, a lawyer, in the drama Udaari, again with Urwa. Besides acting, Farhan also sang the theme song for Udaari with Hadiqa Kiani, which became very popular.

In 2016, he took on another main role in ARY Digital's Teri Chah Mein. He acted with Maria Wasti and Saboor Ali. He also appeared in Hum TV's Sila with Ainy Jaffri.

In 2018, Farhan got the lead role of Arsal Jamshed Ali in the very successful Hum TV drama Suno Chanda. Iqra Aziz played the main female role. Because the show was so popular, a second season was quickly announced. Farhan played Arsal again in Suno Chanda 2 in 2019, which was also a big hit.

Farhan was supposed to make his first movie appearance in Karachi Se Lahore 3. However, he had to leave the project because he was already busy with music tours and concerts. In early 2019, it was announced that he would have his first main movie role in Tich Button. This romantic comedy was co-produced by his wife, Urwa Hocane. The movie was released in 2022.

Farhan Saeed married Urwa Hocane on December 16, 2016, in Lahore, Pakistan. On October 6, 2023, Farhan and Urwa shared the happy news that they were expecting a baby. Their daughter, Jahan Aara Saeed, was born on January 3, 2024.
