Urwa's first main acting role was in the 2012 romantic drama Meri Ladli. She acted alongside Ahsan Khan and Sajal Ali. She then appeared in other TV shows like Kahi Un Kahi and Madiha Maliha. People especially liked her performance in Marasim, where she played a girl facing family challenges.

In 2014, Urwa made her big screen debut in the romantic comedy film Na Maloom Afraad. She starred with actors like Fahad Mustafa and Javed Sheikh. The movie was well-received, and Urwa's acting was praised. She was offered a role in a Bollywood film, Azhar, but she chose not to take it. She prefers roles that fit her personal values.

In January 2019, Urwa announced that she would be producing her first movie! It's a romantic film called Tich Button, and she is producing it with her husband, Farhan Saeed. She even shared pictures from the movie's shooting on her Instagram.
