Maya Lindholm (born 20 December 1990) is a talented German wheelchair basketball player. She was a key part of the German national team that won a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. Maya Lindholm was born in Hamburg, Germany, on 20 December 1990. In 2004, she woke up with severe back pain. Within hours, she could not move her legs. Doctors found she had spinal cord inflammation. This condition affects the spinal cord.

Maya is studying to become an occupational therapist. This job helps people get back skills needed for daily life. She started playing wheelchair basketball for fun in 2005. She played at the hospital where she was getting treatment. By 2009, her skills were so good that she was chosen for the German national team.

In wheelchair basketball, players are given a "point" score based on their physical ability. Maya is a 2.5 point player. This means she has a good amount of movement in her upper body. Winning Gold at the Paralympics

Maya was part of the German team that won the European Championships in 2011. This win took place in Nazareth, Israel. It also meant they qualified for the 2012 Summer Paralympic Games in London.
