Mbo Jérôme Mpenza (born December 4, 1976) is a former professional football player from Belgium. He played as a striker, which means he was a forward player who scored goals. Mbo Mpenza also played for the Belgian national team. He scored three goals in 56 games for his country. His younger brother, Émile, was also a famous football player for Belgium.

Playing for Clubs
Mbo Mpenza started his football journey playing for different clubs. For some time, he played for the same teams as his brother, Émile.
Early Career and Moving Clubs
Mbo Mpenza left Standard Liège to join Sporting CP in Portugal. He moved there in January 2000. That same year, his new team won the league championship. People sometimes called him Monsieur Un But Par Match, which means "Mr. One-Goal-A-Match". This was because he scored goals so often for his clubs.
Later Career and Retirement
Mbo Mpenza had a short time playing in Turkey for Galatasaray. He didn't play much there. After that, he went back to Belgium. He played for R.E. Mouscron again for half a season. Then, he spent four years playing for R.S.C. Anderlecht.
In July 2008, Mpenza joined a Greek team called AEL FC. However, he had a back injury. Because of this injury, he announced his retirement from football on December 8, 2008. He hadn't even played a single game for the Greek club.
Playing for Belgium
Mbo Mpenza started playing for the Belgian national team in 1997. He scored his first goal for Belgium in a friendly game against Greece in August 2005.
World Cups and Euro Tournaments
He represented Belgium in two World Cups. He also played in UEFA Euro 2000, which was held in Belgium and the Netherlands. His brother, Émile, was also in the national team for the 1998 World Cup and the Euro 2000 competition. Mbo Mpenza played a total of 56 games for his country.
After His Playing Days
After Mbo Mpenza stopped playing football, he started working for Anderlecht. He works there as a scout. A scout's job is to find new talented players for the team.
