Mbwana Yusuf Kilungi (born 3 October 1995), known by his stage name Mbosso Khan, is a popular Tanzanian singer and songwriter. He was born in Kibiti, Pwani Region, Tanzania. Today, he lives in Dar es Salaam and is signed with the famous WCB Wasafi record label. Mbosso is well-known for his hit songs like "Nadekezwa" and "Hodari." "Hodari" even won Video of the Year at the HiPipo Awards in 2019. In March 2021, Mbosso released his first studio album, called "Definition of Love."

Early Life: Mbosso's Beginnings
Mbosso was born on October 3, 1995. He grew up in a small town in Tanzania called Masai Boya. His mother's name is Hadija Salom Kikaali, and his father's name is Yusufu Mbwana Kilungi.
Mbosso's Music Journey
Mbosso started his music career in 2013. He was part of a group called Yamoto Band. There were four members in the band. At that time, his stage name was "Maromboso." Yamoto Band was very successful. They were even named the best band of 2015 at the Kilimanjaro Music Awards. The group later stopped making music together in 2015.
Joining WCB Wasafi Records
In 2018, Mbosso joined WCB Wasafi. This is a big record label started by the famous artist Diamond Platnumz. Joining this label helped Mbosso restart his music career. He began releasing songs as a solo artist. Some of his early solo hits include "Maajabu," "Picha Yake," "Tamu," and "Tamba."
YouTube Star: Golden Plaque
Mbosso became very popular online. In 2020, his YouTube channel reached 1 million subscribers! This was a huge achievement. He became one of only four Tanzanian musicians to have over a million subscribers. For this, YouTube gave him a special award called the Golden Plaque.
Hit Albums and EPs
In 2021, Mbosso released his first full album. It was called "Definition of Love" and came out on March 9. Many other artists joined him on this album. These included Diamond Platnumz, Njenje Band, Mr Flavour, Rayvanny, Liya, Darassa, Spice Diana, and Baba Levo.
In November 2022, Mbosso released his first EP. An EP is like a mini-album with fewer songs. He named it "Khan." A music reviewer from Music In Africa said it was a beautiful collection of romantic love songs.
Reaching Millions of Streams
The "Khan" EP became very popular. It is one of the most streamed Tanzanian EPs on Boomplay. It has been played more than 50 million times on that platform! In 2023, Mbosso reached another big milestone. He became one of the few Tanzanian artists to get over 200 million streams on Boomplay. This shows how many people love listening to his music.
