Mbosso's Music Journey

Starting with Yamoto Band

Mbosso began his music career in 2013. He was one of four members of a group called Yamoto Band. Back then, his stage name was "Maromboso." Yamoto Band was very popular and was named the best band of 2015 at the Kilimanjaro Music Awards. The group later broke up in 2015.

Becoming a Solo Artist

In 2018, Mbosso joined WCB Wasafi. This is a record label started by the famous artist Diamond Platnumz. Joining this label helped Mbosso restart his music career as a solo artist. He released many popular songs like "Maajabu," "Picha Yake," "Tamu," and "Tamba."

YouTube Success

By 2020, Mbosso had reached a big milestone. He gained over 1 million subscribers on his YouTube channel! This made him one of only four Tanzanian musicians to achieve this. For this amazing success, YouTube gave him the Golden Plaque award.

First Album and EP

In March 2021, Mbosso released his first studio album, Definition of Love. This album featured many other talented artists. Some of them included Diamond Platnumz, Njenje Band, Mr Flavour, Rayvanny, and Spice Diana.

In November 2022, Mbosso released his first EP (Extended Play) called Khan. An EP is like a mini-album with fewer songs. Music In Africa described Khan as a beautiful collection of romantic love songs. This EP has been streamed over 50 million times on Boomplay, making it one of the most streamed Tanzanian EPs on the platform.

Reaching New Heights

In 2023, Mbosso achieved another impressive goal. He became one of the few Tanzanian artists to get over 200 million streams on Boomplay. This shows how popular his music is with fans!
