A main road, U.S. Route 70, goes right through the middle of McEwen. This road can take you about 14 miles east to Dickson. If you go west for about 9 miles, you'll reach Waverly. Another road, Tennessee State Route 231, also known as Main Street, heads north from McEwen. It goes about 18 miles to a town called Erin.
