Meaulne-Vitray is a town in central France. It is located in the Allier department. This town was created on January 1, 2017. It was formed by joining two older towns: Meaulne and Vitray. Meaulne is the main part of the new town.

History of Meaulne-Vitray
On January 1, 2017, the towns of Meaulne and Vitray joined together. They became one new town called Meaulne-Vitray. This happened to help keep public services running. The government was giving less money to small towns.
Vitray did not have its own church or cemetery. It also no longer had a school. The town relied on Meaulne for many things. By joining, they could better share resources. This merger helped them keep important services for their residents.

Important Places and Monuments
- Église Saint-Symphorien de Meaulne: This church was built in the 17th century. It has been a protected historical monument since 1985. Inside, you can see a special sculpted group. It is called Vierge de Pitié and dates back to the 16th century. This sculpture has also been a historical monument since 1975.
- Église Saint-Éloi de Vitray: This church was built between the 12th and 17th centuries. Its bell tower is unique because it is completely covered in wooden shingles. It has been listed as a historical monument since 1976.
- Château du Plaix: This castle in Meaulne was built in the 17th century. It has been recognized as a historical monument since 1985.
- Château des Alliers: This castle is about two kilometers from the town center. The main part of the building is from the 17th century. Later, two wings with special pavilion roofs were added. The castle once belonged to General Georges Chevalier. He was the father of Jacques Chevalier, a famous French philosopher. The castle and its large property were once left empty. However, new owners have now restored and care for it.
- La GilPat: This is an old farm that covers about 8 acres. It was built in 1905. It is located very close to the Château des Alliers.
- Forest of Tronçais: This large forest is a natural heritage site near the commune. It is known for its beautiful oak trees.
