Mechack Jérôme, born on April 21, 1990, is a professional football player from Haiti. He plays as a defender for USL League One club Union Omaha.

Mechack Jérôme's Football Journey
Mechack Jérôme has played for many different football clubs throughout his career. He started playing professionally in Haiti and then moved to play in other countries.
Early Club Career
Jérôme began his career playing for Baltimore in Haiti's top league, the Ligue Haïtienne. After that, he played for Mirandela in Portugal.
In 2010, the head coach of Austin Aztex, Adrian Heath, noticed Jérôme. This happened during a friendly match where Jérôme was playing for the Haiti national team.
Joining Austin Aztex and Orlando City
Jérôme signed with Austin Aztex in June 2010. He played his first game for them on September 11, 2010.
Before the 2011 season, the club got new owners. They moved the team to Orlando, Florida and changed its name to Orlando City. The team then joined the USL Pro league. Jérôme signed a multi-year contract with Orlando City in September 2011.
Moving to Major League Soccer (MLS)
On February 28, 2013, Jérôme joined Sporting Kansas City, a team in Major League Soccer (MLS). He played for them for about a year before leaving the club in March 2014.
Later in 2014, he signed with another MLS team, Montreal Impact, in June. However, he was released from that team just three weeks later.
Later Club Teams
In May 2015, Jérôme signed with Charlotte Independence in the United Soccer League. A few months later, in September 2015, he joined Jacksonville Armada FC in the North American Soccer League. He stayed with Jacksonville and re-signed for the 2016 season.
On January 21, 2019, Jérôme signed with El Paso Locomotive, a new team in the USL Championship. He continued to play for El Paso for the 2020 season as well.
In December 2021, it was announced that Jérôme would move to Indy Eleven for the 2022 season. He played for Indy Eleven until his contract ended in November 2023.
Current Club: Union Omaha
On January 30, 2024, Mechack Jérôme signed with Union Omaha. This team plays in USL League One. He made his first appearance for Union Omaha on March 16, 2024, in a game they won 2–1.
Unfortunately, Jérôme was not listed on Union Omaha's 2025 roster because of an injury.
Playing for Haiti: International Career
Mechack Jérôme has proudly represented his home country, Haiti, in international football.
Youth and Senior National Teams
He played for Haiti's youth teams, including the 2007 CONCACAF U17 Tournament and the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Jérôme made his debut for the senior Haiti national team in 2008. He was part of the Haitian squad that played in the 2008 Caribbean Championship. His team also helped Haiti qualify for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Mechack Jérôme's Personal Life
On October 31, 2024, an accident happened at Mechack Jérôme's home in Bellevue, Nebraska. There was an incident involving a propane tank in his garage. This caused damage to the building.
Mechack, his wife, and his cousin were all injured and needed to go to the hospital. The fire department believed the accident happened because propane gas built up in the garage and then ignited.
After the accident, Union Omaha, his football club, helped raise money for Jérôme and his family. They collected over $47,000 to help with medical costs. Mechack has shared that he hopes to play football again once he recovers.
