Medusa is a small community known as a hamlet in New York, United States. It is part of the Town of Rensselaerville in Albany County, New York. In the year 2000, about 376 people lived there.

History of Medusa

Medusa was first settled in 1786 by Uriah Hall and his son, Joshua. They named the area "Hall's Mills" after their family.

In 1850, the community's name was changed to Medusa. At that time, Medusa had several important buildings and businesses. These included two churches, a hotel, and two stores. There were also two mills for grinding grain. Other businesses included places for woodworking, making paper, and carpenter's shops. There were also two blacksmith's shops, where metal items were made.
