Melbost (called Mealabost in Gaelic) is a small village in Scotland. It's on the east coast of the Isle of Lewis, which is part of the Outer Hebrides. People in Melbost have traditionally spoken Scottish Gaelic.
The village is mostly made up of "crofts." A croft is a small farm with a house, often found in the Scottish Highlands and Islands. Melbost is about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) east of a bigger town called Stornoway. It sits near a narrow strip of land that connects to the Eye Peninsula. Even though it's close, Melbost is not actually on the Eye Peninsula itself. You can also find a war memorial in the village, which remembers those from RAF Stornoway.
