Melvin Baker's NFL Career
Joining the Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins picked Melvin Baker in the 1974 NFL draft. He was the 208th player chosen overall. During the 1974 season, he played in nine games for the Dolphins. He caught four passes for 121 yards. He also scored two touchdowns.
Moving to Other Teams
In 1975, Baker was traded to the New Orleans Saints. He played two games for them. He caught two passes for 26 yards. Later that year, he briefly played for the New England Patriots. He also played one game for the San Diego Chargers.
