Before moving, LaThomas had already helped write and produce music for an artist named Tiffany Villarreal. This experience helped him meet important people in the music world. When he first arrived in Atlanta, things were tough. For almost a month, he lived in a UHaul truck and used hotel showers!
LaThomas later worked on a song for the famous group Pussycat Dolls. It was called "Whatcha Think About That" and featured Missy Elliott. He was the vocal producer for this song, which means he helped the singers sound their best. The song came out in 2008.
