Menno Oosting (born May 17, 1964 – died February 22, 1999) was a professional tennis player from the Netherlands. He was known for his skills in doubles tennis, winning seven major doubles titles during his career.

Menno was born in a place called Son en Breugel in the North Brabant region of the Netherlands. He became a professional tennis player in 1983. He was left-handed, which can be a unique advantage in tennis.

Menno's Tennis Journey

Menno Oosting achieved great success in his tennis career. In 1988, he reached his highest singles ranking, becoming the 72nd best male singles player in the world. He was even better at doubles, reaching a career-high ranking of 20th in the world in 1995.

One of his biggest achievements was winning the mixed-doubles title at the Roland Garros tournament in 1994. He played with his partner, Kristie Boogert, and together they won this important Grand Slam event. Throughout his career, Menno won seven doubles titles and reached 18 doubles finals.

Playing for His Country

Menno also proudly represented the Netherlands in the Davis Cup during the 1980s. The Davis Cup is a big team competition where players represent their home countries. He played in four Davis Cup matches, showing his talent for both singles and doubles. He had a good record, winning more matches than he lost for his country.

A Sad Farewell

Sadly, Menno Oosting passed away on February 22, 1999, at the age of 34. He died from injuries he received in a car accident in Turnhout, Belgium.
