Mercedes-Benz Vario facts for kids
The Mercedes-Benz Vario is a type of large vehicle. It can be a van, a truck, or even a bus. Before it was called Vario, it had another name: the Mercedes-Benz T2. T2 stood for 'Transporter 2'. Mercedes-Benz has been making these vehicles since 1995. In 1996, the design was updated. That's when it got its new name, Vario.
The Vario uses a powerful engine. It's a special type of diesel engine called 'OM904'. This engine is also used in another Mercedes-Benz vehicle, the Atego truck. The Vario is often used as the base for small buses. These are called minibuses or mini-coaches. You can even find a Vario model with a wheelchair lift. This helps people who use wheelchairs get in and out easily.
