Mercedes-Benz World is a cool place in Weybridge, Surrey, UK. It's open to everyone and is part of the famous Brooklands motor racing circuit. The Mercedes-Benz Group owns and runs it. It first opened in October 2006. Since then, over 3 million people have visited this exciting spot.
Mercedes-Benz World was the first place in the UK to offer a special coaching course. This course helps people become professional motorsport coaches. It's the highest coaching award you can get in UK motorsport.
Awesome Activities
At Mercedes-Benz World, you can book time to drive on their tracks. This lets you try out the powerful AMG cars. You can learn how different car technologies work together. This includes how they make driving safer and easier.
There are courses for all skill levels. This means whether you're new to driving or have lots of race experience, there's something for you. Famous drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have driven here. Even legends like Stirling Moss have been on these tracks. A team of expert driving coaches is always there to help you.
On June 19, 2011, a driver named Mauro Calo set a world record here. He performed the longest car drift. He drifted for 2,308 metres in a Mercedes C63 AMG car. This was confirmed by Guinness World Records.
Since 2015, the AMG Driving Academy has offered special training here. This is the only place in the world where you can get this training any day. You also get one-on-one coaching, which is super helpful.
If you are tall enough (about 1.5 metres), you can drive a car at Mercedes-Benz World. You get to drive on parts of the original Brooklands Circuit. There are courses that take you from your very first drive. You can even work up to driving a top-of-the-range supercar on the tracks!
The driving areas include two high-performance tracks. There are also simulated ice surfaces and a skid pan. You can try high-speed braking and a 4x4 course. Plus, there are special areas for beginners and young drivers.
Where to Find It
Mercedes-Benz World is easy to get to. It's near Junctions 10 and 11 of the M25 motorway. It's also located between Heathrow and Gatwick airports. The best part is that entry to the complex is free for everyone.
The building has three floors. You can see over 100 cars on display. This includes a historic 300SL Gullwing. You can also see all the latest sports and performance models. Inside, there's a cinema, a restaurant, and a simulator studio. There's also a cafe, cool displays, and event spaces. Don't forget the shop for souvenirs! Kids are very welcome, and there are many activities for all ages.
You can easily reach Mercedes-Benz World by bus. There's a regular bus service from Weybridge railway station and Woking railway station.
Right next door is the Brooklands Museum. It has a huge collection of old cars, motorbikes, and aeroplanes. These are all linked to the history of Brooklands. You can even see a Concorde! The museum also has a cafe, a restaurant, and a kids' area. Also nearby is the London Bus Museum. It shows off about 35 old London buses, some from the 1870s.
