Merom is a small town in Sullivan County, Indiana, United States. It is located in Gill Township. In 2020, about 208 people lived there. Merom is part of the Terre Haute area. A large power plant, the Merom Generating Station, is also nearby.

History of Merom
Merom was started in 1817. It was once the first county seat for Sullivan County. This means it was where the main government offices were located.
The town's name comes from a battle mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. This battle was called the Battle of the Waters of Merom. Merom has had a post office since 1818.
A school called Union Christian College was in Merom for many years. It operated from 1859 to 1924.

The Merom Camp and Retreat Center is located where the old Union Christian College used to be. It is a place for groups to gather and learn.
Merom Bluff Park is a popular spot. It looks out over the Wabash River and the farm fields of Illinois. Every year, the park hosts the Merom Chautauqua. This is a festival with speakers, music, and other cultural events.
