Merrill Mountain (which is Montagne Merrill in French) is a cool mountain that sits right on the border between Canada and the United States! It's partly in Quebec, Canada, and partly in Maine, USA. This mountain is part of the huge Appalachian Mountains range. It stands tall at about 997 meters (or 3,271 feet) high.
Where is Merrill Mountain?
Merrill Mountain is found near a town called Frontenac in Quebec, Canada. It's also close to a special protected area known as zec Louise-Gosford and a lake called lac aux Araignées. What's really interesting is that the border between Canada and the United States actually runs right over the mountain!
How Did Merrill Mountain Get Its Name?
The name "Montagne Merrill" was officially recognized on November 7, 1985. This was done by a group in Quebec called the Commission de toponymie du Québec, which is in charge of naming places.
