In 2010, the village had 565 people living there. These people lived in 216 households. Most of the people living in Metamora were White. A small number of residents were African American, Native American, or Asian. Some people identified with two or more races. About 1.4% of the population was of Hispanic or Latino background.

Schools in Metamora
Metamora itself does not have its own school system. Students living in the village attend schools in nearby communities. These include Lapeer Community Schools, Dryden Community Schools, and Oxford Community Schools. Some students also go to private schools in the wider Metro Detroit area.
The Historic White Horse Inn
The White Horse Inn is a very old and famous building in Metamora. It first opened in 1850 and served customers for 162 years without stopping! It closed in 2012 for a big renovation. The building itself was built in 1850.
Bringing the Inn Back to Life
The community of Metamora helped a lot with the renovation. Many skilled craftsmen from the area volunteered their time and talents. These craftsmen usually work on fancy, high-end homes. Much of the wood used for the renovation came from the owner's own land. Other materials were recycled from an old barn nearby. A special artist named Jean Louis Sauvat even came all the way from France. He painted beautiful charcoal pictures of horses on the walls inside the Inn. The Inn was planned to reopen in late 2014.

Metamora hosts several fun events throughout the year. These events bring the community together.
Metamora Country Days and Balloon Festival
Every year in late August, Metamora holds its Country Days and Balloon Festival. This exciting event features about 20 hot air balloons. They launch into the sky on Friday and Saturday evenings. It's a beautiful sight to see the balloons float over the village.
Summer Concerts in the Park
The village also hosts free summer concerts. These concerts are held every Thursday evening. You can enjoy live music from mid-June through late August. The concerts take place in Harmer Park.
The Metamora Hunt
Metamora and the area around it are known for their natural beauty. The Metamora Hunt is a very old organization. It is dedicated to the tradition of chasing foxes with horses and hounds. You might see the hounds being taken on hunts during the fall. They sometimes take up the entire dirt road!
