Micah Aaron Parsons is a super talented American football player. He was born on May 26, 1999, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He plays as a defensive end for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the pros, he was an amazing college player for the Penn State Nittany Lions. He was even named the best linebacker in his college conference in 2019!
The Dallas Cowboys picked him in the 2021 NFL draft. He quickly became one of the best players, winning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. He was chosen for the Pro Bowl four times and was an All-Pro player three times with the Cowboys. In 2025, he joined the Green Bay Packers and signed a huge contract. Micah Parsons' Early Life and High School Football
Micah grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He went to Harrisburg High School. There, he was a star player, playing both defensive end and running back. He was so good that many top colleges wanted him to play for them! He decided to go to Penn State University. He even finished high school early to start playing college football sooner.
College Football Career at Penn State
When Micah joined Penn State, his coach asked him to play a new position: middle linebacker. Even as a freshman, he was amazing! He led his team in tackles, which means he stopped the most opposing players. This was a first for a freshman at Penn State!
In his second year, he continued to shine. He was named the Big Ten Linebacker of the Year and was recognized as one of the best college players in the entire country. He even won an award for being the defensive MVP in a big game called the Cotton Bowl. Micah decided not to play his final college season because of health concerns. He still finished his degree in criminology before heading to the NFL.

Playing for the Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys chose Micah as the 12th player in the 2021 NFL draft. He signed a four-year contract. Early in his first season, he switched back to playing defensive end, a position he loved in high school. He was incredibly successful right away! He won the NFC Defensive Player of the Week award. He also set a new record for sacks by a Cowboys rookie. He was chosen for the Pro Bowl and named an All-Pro player. He won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award!
In the next few seasons, Micah continued to be one of the best defensive players in the league. He kept getting many sacks. He was chosen for the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams multiple times. He is one of only two players in NFL history to get at least 12 sacks in each of their first four seasons! In 2025, after some disagreements with the team, Micah asked to be traded. He wanted a fresh start.
Joining the Green Bay Packers
In August 2025, the Cowboys traded Micah to the Green Bay Packers. He immediately signed a big new contract. This made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history at that time! Micah chose to wear jersey number 1 for the Packers. This is a special number because the team's founder, Curly Lambeau, wore it many years ago. He quickly made a big impact with the Packers. He even got three sacks in one game and earned another NFC Defensive Player of the Week award.

Micah is a father to a son named Malcolm and a daughter born in 2023. He loves his family very much. In 2024, Micah showed off his basketball skills. He played in the NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity Game. He scored 37 points and was named the Most Valuable Player!
