Michael Keith Davis II (born January 6, 1995) is an American professional football player. He plays as a cornerback, which is a defensive position in football. Michael played college football for the BYU Cougars. He then joined the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017 and later played for the Washington Commanders.

Early Life and Sports
Michael Davis was born on January 6, 1995, in Glendale, California. His father is African American and his mother is Mexican. He was raised Catholic by his mother.
Michael went to Glendale High School. There, he was a star in both football and track and field. In his last year of high school, he earned top honors for his football skills.
He was also a very fast runner in track and field. He won the Pacific League title in the 100-meter sprint three years in a row. He also won the 200-meter sprint four years in a row. Michael even competed in the California State Championship Meet for the 200-meter race twice. He finished seventh in 2012 and fifth in 2013.
College Football Career
Michael Davis played college football at BYU from 2013 to 2016. During his four seasons, he made 110 tackles. He also broke up 17 passes, which means he stopped the other team from completing their throws.
In his senior year, Michael made a very important play. He intercepted a pass and ran it back 40 yards against Michigan State. This big play helped his team, the BYU Cougars, win the game 31–14.
Professional Football Career
Playing for the Los Angeles Chargers

After college, Michael Davis was not chosen in the NFL draft. However, the Los Angeles Chargers signed him as a free agent on May 1, 2017. He was first on their practice squad, which is like a training team. Soon after, he was moved to the active roster, meaning he could play in real games.
In 2020, Michael signed a new contract with the Chargers. That year, he had an amazing play in a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He intercepted a pass from famous quarterback Tom Brady. Michael then ran the ball 78 yards for a touchdown! In 2021, he signed a three-year contract extension with the Chargers.
Joining the Washington Commanders
On March 18, 2024, Michael Davis signed a one-year contract with the Washington Commanders. He played in 15 games for the Commanders during the 2024 regular season. He made 14 tackles and deflected one pass. He was not active for the three post-season games the team played.
