Michael Anthony McDonald (born February 6, 1965) is a Canadian retired heavyweight kickboxer. He was nicknamed "the Black Sniper". Michael is famous for winning the K-1 USA Grand Prix Championship three times.

Early life and sports
Michael was born in Birmingham, England, to a family from Jamaica. He grew up in Mandeville, Jamaica until he was ten years old. Then, his family moved to Canada, and he spent his school years in Edmonton, Alberta.
When Michael was growing up, he loved many sports. He played track and field, football, soccer, baseball, and wrestling. When he was 17, a friend showed him Muay Thai, which is a type of kickboxing.
K-1 career highlights
In 1996, Michael joined the K-1 fighting network. He started training with Andy Hug, who was a Karate World Cup Champion. Michael was part of "Team Andy" for three years. During this time, he fought in K-1 Grand Prix events all over the world.
In 2000, Michael surprised many people at the K-1 World Grand Prix 2000 in Fukuoka. He won against Nicholas Pettas, who was expected to win.
Michael had a great year in 2002. He won both K-1 tournaments held in the United States that year. These were the K-1 USA Grand Prix 2002 and the K-1 World Grand Prix 2002 in Las Vegas.
In 2004, he won the K-1 USA 2004 North American Grand Prix Championship again. He was knocked down in one fight but got back up and won. In the final match, Michael beat Dewey Cooper. After his win, the famous boxers Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson presented him with his award.
Michael returned to Las Vegas in 2006 to try and win the title again. He won his first two fights. However, he lost in the finals to Stefan Leko.
Mixed martial arts career
Michael also competed in mixed martial arts (MMA) a couple of times. In his first MMA fight, he lost to Lyoto Machida. In his next fight, he won against fellow kickboxer Rick Roufus.
