Michael Obiora (born October 8, 1986) is a British actor, writer, and director. He has been in many TV shows, movies, and plays. He also writes books and narrates audiobooks.

Early Life and Challenges
Michael Obiora was born in London, England. His parents are from Nigeria. When he was six, he wanted to be an entertainer like Michael Jackson. His mom helped him start drama lessons. Michael faced some tough times when he was a teenager. He was injured once and later left school. Sadly, his father also passed away during this time.
Starting His Acting Journey
When Michael was just nine years old, he made history. He became the youngest actor to appear in the children's TV show Grange Hill. He played the character Max Abassi for five years. This was a big start to his acting career!

Acting in TV Shows and Movies
Michael has acted in many popular TV shows, like My Family, Judge John Deed, and Misfits.
A big moment was his role in the 2007 Doctor Who episode "Blink". He also starred in Doctors, The Bill, and Holby City. From 2006 to 2009, he was a main character, Ben Trueman, in the drama series Hotel Babylon.
Later, he played nurse Lloyd Asike in the medical drama Casualty for two seasons. In 2015, he was part of the show Fortitude, which was filmed in Iceland. He also appeared in the 2016 film Hooten & the Lady.
Michael played Nas Stone in the TV show Snatch. He was also Errol Minty in Luther from 2015 to 2019. In 2018, he played Baxter in the Tomb Raider movie. Michael was also part of the ITV series Out There, which came out in January 2025.
Working Behind the Scenes
Michael Obiora is not just an actor; he also writes and directs! In 2020, he directed his first short film called Soaperstar. He also wrote and starred in it. This film won him several awards, including Best Actor at the Europe Film Festival.
In 2021, he wrote, directed, and starred in another short film, KARMArcus. For this film, he won Best Actor at the London Movie Awards.

From 2009 to 2014, Michael played DS Watende Robinson in the BBC Radio 4 drama Craven.
Michael is also an author. His first novel, Black Shoes, was released in 2009. His second novel, Vivian's Couch, came out in 2014. His first children's book, Zee Zee The Humble Bee, was published in March 2025.
Personal Life
Michael Obiora loves sports and staying fit. He is a big fan of the Arsenal football team.
In 2008, he found out he has celiac disease. This means he has to be careful about what he eats.
In 2014, Michael married his partner in a beach wedding in the Seychelles. They welcomed their child in 2020.
