Michael Yano (矢野 マイケル, Yano Michael, born January 22, 1979) is a Japanese former footballer, kickboxing player, and musician. He is known for his time playing football in Japan's J-League. After his football career, he became involved in kickboxing and music.
Michael Yano's Football Journey
Michael Yano was born in Accra, Ghana, on January 22, 1979. His father was Japanese, and his mother was Ghanaian. When he was 10 years old, Michael moved to Japan.
He started his football career in Japan with the youth team of Shimizu S-Pulse. In 1997, he joined Vissel Kobe, a team that had just moved up to the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league. Michael played in many games as a forward during 1997. However, he didn't play as much in 1998.
After taking a year off from professional football, Michael joined Mito HollyHock in 2000. This team had just been promoted to the J2 League, the second-highest league in Japan. In 2001, he moved to another J2 club, Sagan Tosu. Michael Yano decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2001 season. Throughout his career, he played a total of 46 league games and scored 3 goals.
Life After Football
After retiring from football, Michael Yano explored new paths. He became a kickboxing player, showing his skills in a different sport.
He also pursued a career in music. Michael is a talented musician and has even written songs for popular music groups. Some of the famous artists he has written songs for include 2PM and AAA.
