Michelle Bonae Finn-Burrell, born on May 8, 1965, in Orlando, Florida, is an American former sprint athlete. She was a very fast runner in track and field events. Michelle went to Oak Ridge High School in Orlando.

She later attended Florida State University (FSU). While there, she set a school record for the 100 meters race. This record lasted for over 18 years! Michelle is famous for winning a gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. She was part of the 4 × 100 meters relay team, which means four runners each ran 100 meters. She also made it to the final of the 200 meters race at the same Olympics, finishing in seventh place.

Michelle's Amazing Career

College and Early Success

Michelle was a top athlete throughout her college years at FSU. She earned "All-America" honors every year from 1984 to 1987. This means she was recognized as one of the best college athletes in the country. She excelled in races like the 55, 100, and 200 meters, and also with the 4 × 100 meters relay team.

In 1986, Michelle was part of the United States team that won a gold medal. This was for the 4 × 100 meters relay at the 1986 Goodwill Games in Moscow. She also became the 1990 TAC/USA's National Indoor Champion. This is a big award for indoor track and field.

International Competitions

Michelle competed in the IAAF World Indoor Championships three times. These are major international events held indoors. She reached the final of the 60 meters race twice, showing her speed on the world stage.

In 1993, Michelle was a semi-finalist in both the 100 and 200 meters at the 1993 World Championships in Athletics. This means she made it to the second-to-last round of these important races. She also won a bronze medal at the US national championships for the 200 meters that year.

Family Life

Michelle Finn-Burrell is married to Leroy Burrell. Leroy is also a famous American sprinter. He broke the world record for the 100 meters race twice! Their fastest times were 9.90 seconds in 1991 and 9.85 seconds in 1994.

Michelle and Leroy have three sons together. Their names are Cameron, Joshua, and Jaden.
