Michelle Yvonne Hunziker is a famous Swiss-Italian television presenter and former model. She was born on January 24, 1977.

She was one of the hosts for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel, Switzerland. She hosted alongside Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer.

Early Life and Beginnings

Michelle Hunziker was born in Sorengo, a town near Lugano in Switzerland. Her mother is Dutch, and her father, who passed away in 2001, was a Swiss painter and hotel manager.

In 1983, her family moved to Ostermundigen, a suburb of Bern, where she went to elementary school. Later, she moved to Milan, Italy, with her mother. There, she started her career as a fashion model. When she was just 17, she modeled for big names like Giorgio Armani and La Perla.

Television Career

Michelle Hunziker became well-known in Italy after she became engaged to singer Eros Ramazzotti. In 1996, she started presenting TV shows. One of her first shows was I cervelloni on Rai Uno. She also hosted the comedy show Paperissima Sprint on Canale 5.

Italian TV Shows

In 1997, Michelle hosted Colpo di Fulmine on Italia 1. She also studied at a professional academy in Milan to improve her skills.

In 1998, she got her first acting role in the TV series La Forza dell'Amore. She also appeared in films like Fammi stare sotto al letto and Alex l'Ariete. From 1999 to 2001, she presented Nonsolomoda, a show about fashion and lifestyle.

She co-hosted the Italian comedy show Zelig in 2001, which is very popular. That same year, she won an Italian TV award for "Discovery of the Year." She also co-hosted the music show Festivalbar.

In 2007, Michelle and Pippo Baudo hosted the famous Italian song contest, the Festival di Sanremo. She later returned to host Striscia la notizia and Paperissima. In 2018, she hosted the Sanremo Music Festival again.

In 2024, she hosted Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration on Canale 5. In May 2025, she co-hosted the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel.

German TV Shows

Michelle also became popular in Germany. In 1998, she presented the Goldene Kamera awards with Thomas Gottschalk. She co-hosted Michael Jackson & Friends in Munich in 1999.

From 2002 to 2004, Michelle and Carsten Spengemann hosted the first two seasons of Deutschland sucht den Superstar. This was the German version of the British show Pop Idol. In October 2009, she joined Wetten, dass..?, which is Germany's most popular TV show.

Music and Musicals

In 2006, Michelle released an album called Lole. It was only available in German-speaking countries. The only song released from the album was "From Noon Till Midnight."

She has also starred in popular musicals in Italy. She played Maria von Trapp in The Sound of Music and Sally Bowles in Cabaret. Both musicals were very successful.

Michelle Hunziker was married to Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti from 1998. They separated in 2002 and divorced in 2009. They have one daughter together. Through this marriage, she also became an Italian citizen.

In 2013, Michelle got engaged to Tomaso Trussardi. They have two daughters together. In 2017, Michelle spoke about personal challenges that affected her marriage to Ramazzotti.
