Michichi (say it like: mih-CHIH-chee) is a tiny community called a hamlet in southern Alberta, Canada. It's part of Starland County. You can find it about 7 kilometers south of Highway 9. It's also about 121 kilometers northeast of a bigger city, Calgary.
What's in a Name?
The name Michichi comes from the Cree word ᒥᒋᐦᒋᕀ. This word, micihciy, means 'hand'. The community was named this because it is close to a place called the Hand Hills.
