Starland County is a special type of local government area called a municipal district. It is located in southern Alberta, Canada. It's a place where people live in smaller communities and on farms, all managed by one local government.

History of Starland County

Starland County has an interesting past! It officially became a municipality in 1912. This means it started having its own local government to make decisions for the area.

The area's boundaries were set in 1943. At that time, it was first called the Municipal District of Morrin No. 277. But in the same year, its name changed to Municipal District of Starland No. 277. Later, in 1998, it got its current, simpler name: Starland County.
