Delia is a small village located in southern Alberta, Canada. It is about 45 kilometers (28 miles) northeast of Drumheller. The village is named after Delia Davis, who was the wife of a local merchant.
Delia was first known as the Village of Highland between 1914 and 1915. However, its post office was called Delia right from the start in 1912. In 1920, Delia made history. It became the first community in Alberta to have a female leader, called a reeve, named Violet Barss. She was chosen by the other members of the village council.
