Michihiro Ozawa (born December 25, 1932) is a famous former Japanese football player. He was known for playing as a Midfielder or Defender. He also played for the Japan national team.

Club Career

Michihiro Ozawa was born in Utsunomiya, Japan, on December 25, 1932. After finishing his studies at Tokyo University of Education, he joined a football club called Toyo Industries in 1955.

In 1962, Ozawa was recognized for his amazing skills. He won the Japanese Footballer of the Year award! In 1965, his club, Toyo Industries, joined a brand new league called the Japan Soccer League.

Ozawa played 42 games for Toyo Industries. He retired from playing in 1967. His team was very successful during his time there. They won the league championship three years in a row, from 1965 to 1967.

Playing for Japan

In June 1956, Michihiro Ozawa was chosen to play for the Japan national team. His first game for Japan was on June 3, 1956, against South Korea. This game was part of the qualification matches for the 1956 Summer Olympics.

Later that year, in November, he played for Japan at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Australia. He also represented Japan at the 1958 and 1962 Asian Games.

In 1964, when Ozawa was 31 years old, he became the captain of the Japan national team. However, he was not chosen to play in the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. This was because the team wanted to bring in younger players. He played a total of 36 games for Japan until 1964.
