Early Life and Education
Micky Jagtiani came from a Sindhi family in India. He went to school in different cities like Chennai, Mumbai, and Beirut. Later, he moved to London to study accounting. However, he decided to leave school before finishing his studies.
Building a Business Empire
After leaving school, Micky Jagtiani went to Bahrain. There, he took over a small shop that belonged to his brother, who had passed away. He changed this shop into a store that sold products for babies, which he named Babyshop.
Micky Jagtiani worked hard in his shop for ten years. Then, he started to make his business bigger by opening six new stores. When the Gulf War began, he moved his business to Dubai. In Dubai, he started a new company called the Landmark Group.
Over the years, the Landmark Group grew a lot. It expanded into many different areas like fashion, electronics, furniture, and even budget hotels. The company has stores across the Persian Gulf region, the Middle East, and India. Today, the Landmark Group employs about 45,000 people. It has more than 1,000 stores in total.
