The Middle Branch of the Little Magalloway River is a small river, about 4.6-mile-long (7.4 km), that flows through parts of New Hampshire and Maine in the United States. It's like a smaller stream that feeds into a bigger one, the Little Magalloway River. This river is part of a larger system called the Androscoggin River watershed. A watershed is an area of land where all the water drains into a common river, lake, or ocean.
Where Does the River Start?
The Middle Branch of the Little Magalloway River begins its journey in Pittsburg, New Hampshire. This starting point is located south of a mountain called Prospect Mountain, which is about 2,714-foot (827 m) tall. From there, the river flows towards the east, crossing the state line into Maine.
How It Connects to Other Rivers
As the Middle Branch flows, it meets up with another stream called the West Branch of the Little Magalloway. This meeting point is about 0.7 miles (1.1 km) before the Middle Branch itself joins the main Little Magalloway River. The Little Magalloway River doesn't flow much further after that; it ends just 0.3 miles (0.5 km) downstream at a lake called Aziscohos Lake. So, the Middle Branch is an important part of this network of rivers and lakes.
