Middle Mesa was first officially listed as a CDP after the 2010 census. Before that, this area was known by a different name: Young Place. In 2010, the Young Place CDP had a population of 187 people.
Where is Middle Mesa?
This community is located in the very northeastern corner of San Juan County. To its north, it shares a border with La Plata and Archuleta counties in Colorado.
Middle Mesa is situated to the west of the Navajo Reservoir. This reservoir is a large body of water on the San Juan River. The community is about 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Aztec. Aztec is the main city and county seat for San Juan County. Middle Mesa is also about 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Arboles, Colorado.
