Midtown Phillips is a neighborhood in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is part of the larger Phillips community. This area was founded in 1849.
You can find Midtown Phillips by its borders. East 24th Street is to the north. Bloomington Avenue is to the east. East Lake Street is to the south. Chicago Avenue is to the west.
Most of Midtown Phillips is made up of homes where people live. In 2020, over 5,200 people from many different backgrounds called this neighborhood home. Midtown Phillips is part of Ward 9. This area is currently represented by city council member Jason Chavez.

Learning and Schools
Midtown Phillips has important places for learning. Stewart Park and Andersen United School are right in the middle of the neighborhood.
Andersen School teaches students from pre-kindergarten to 8th grade. It has over 1,000 students. About 28% of students at this school are good at math or reading, based on state tests. Many students at Andersen United School come from families with lower incomes. A large number are also students of color or speak more than one language.

Big Projects
One of the biggest projects in Minneapolis happened here. The old Sears building at Chicago Avenue and Lake Street was empty. It was redeveloped into the Midtown Exchange. This huge project cost $189 million. It now has offices, a hotel, shops, and homes.
