History of Mifflin
Mifflin was first started as a town called Patterson. Long ago, Mifflin was a very important stop for trains on the Pennsylvania Railroad. Even today, train tracks still go through the town. These tracks are now owned by the Norfolk Southern Railway.
The old train station building from the Pennsylvania Railroad is still in Mifflin. It is no longer used, but it stands as a reminder of the town's past. Mifflin got its name from Thomas Mifflin, who was the very first Governor of Pennsylvania.
