Miguel Alemán Velasco was born on March 18, 1932. He is a well-known Mexican politician, businessman, and someone who gives money to good causes (a philanthropist). He used to be a senator and the governor of the state of Veracruz.
Miguel Alemán Velasco is the son of Miguel Alemán Valdés, who was the Mexican president from 1946 to 1952. His father was the first person from the Institutional Revolutionary Party to run for president and the first president in modern times who was not from the military. His mother was Beatriz Velasco Mendoza. Miguel Alemán Velasco has worked in both government and private businesses.

Miguel Alemán Velasco studied Law and earned a degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
His Work and Career
Miguel Alemán Velasco became important in the big Mexican TV company, Televisa, because his father owned parts of it.
On August 9, 2004, the country of Panama gave Alemán a special award called the Great Cross of Vasco Nuñez de Balboa.
In November 2013, he received the "Jerusalem Prize." This award is given by the World Zionist Organization and the Zionist Council of Mexico. It honors people who have shown friendship towards Israel.
In 2005, he tried to become his party's candidate for the presidential election in 2006.
In April 2020, the government's tax agency, the Tax Administration Service (SAT), took control of a building in Polanco, Mexico City. This building belonged to the Miguel Alemán Valdés Foundation. Miguel Alemán Velasco is the head of Grupo Alemán (Galem). This group used to include Interjet, an airline that faced financial problems. Interjet stopped its flights on March 24, 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico. Later, Interjet and the tax agency made an agreement about paying off some money the airline owed.
His Family Life
Miguel Alemán Velasco is married to Christiane Magnani, who was once a Miss Universe and is also an actress. They have four children: Claudia, Mónica, Karla, and Miguel Alemán Magnani. When Alemán Velasco sold his shares in Televisa, his son, Miguel Alemán Magnani, bought them. His son later owned Interjet, the airline that is no longer flying.
