Milford H. Beagle Jr. is a very high-ranking officer in the United States Army. He holds the rank of Lieutenant General. Since October 4, 2022, he has been in charge of the United States Army Combined Arms Center. He also serves as the leader of the United States Army Command and General Staff College.
Before his current roles, General Beagle led the 10th Mountain Division and Fort Drum. This was from July 12, 2021, to September 9, 2022. He also served as the 51st commanding general of the United States Army Training Center at Fort Jackson. He held this position from June 22, 2018, to June 18, 2021.

Early Life and Education
Milford H. Beagle Jr. grew up in Enoree, South Carolina. His great-grandfather, Walter Beagles, was a veteran of World War I. General Beagle is married to Pamela Jones, who is from Blackville, South Carolina. They have two sons together.
He started his military career through the ROTC program. This program helps college students become officers in the Army. He attended South Carolina State University. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice. Later, he continued his education. He received a Master of Science degree in adult education from Kansas State University. He also earned another Master of Science degree from the United States Army Command and General Staff College.
A Leader in the Army
General Beagle has held many important leadership roles. From 2017 to 2018, he was the deputy commanding general for support of the 10th Mountain Division. Before that, he commanded the 193rd Infantry Brigade from 2013 to 2016.
He is also notable for being the second African American to command the 10th Mountain Division. The first was Lloyd Austin, who led the division from 2003 to 2005. General Beagle has received several awards for his service. These include the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit (three times), and the Bronze Star Medal.
