Milkis (Hangul: 밀키스; RR: Milkiseu) is a special kind of soft drink made by Lotte Chilsung, a big drink company in South Korea. It's different from regular sodas because it mixes the bubbly fizz of carbonated water and sugar with milk. This gives it a creamy, smooth taste. The label on the bottle even says it's a "New feeling of soda beverage"!
Milkis comes in many yummy flavors like orange, strawberry, mango, melon, banana, peach, apple, and a classic (regular) flavor. The classic flavor is even used as a glaze on some pastries! Milkis is super popular in South Korea and you can find it in many countries around the world.

The Story of Milkis
Milkis first came out in 1989. To make it famous, the company launched a huge advertising campaign. They even got a famous actor from Hong Kong, Chow Yun-fat, to be in their TV commercials!
Chow Yun-fat's Catchphrase
At that time, Chow Yun-fat was very popular because of his movie A Better Tomorrow. In the Milkis ads, he said a special phrase: "Saranghaeyo, Milkis!" This means "I love you, Milkis!" in Korean. His strong accent made the phrase a big hit, and everyone started saying it. Because of this, Milkis sales went way up, and that catchphrase is still remembered today!

Milkis isn't just popular in South Korea; it's also a big hit in other countries.
Growing in Taiwan
The drink has become very popular in Taiwan. Lotte Chilsung started selling Milkis there in late 2020, sending about 200,000 cans. People loved it so much that demand grew very quickly. In 2021, they sold 2.3 million cans! And in just the first eight months of 2022, they sold an amazing 10 million cans!
Success in the United States
Milkis has also done well in the United States. In 2021, about 10 million cans were sold there. Most of these sales happened in Asian supermarkets, where many people go to find foods and drinks from Asia.
