Millbrook, also known as Millbrook Village, is a small community in New Jersey. It is located along Old Mine Road in Hardwick Township. This area used to be called Pahaquarry Township.
Millbrook is found in Warren County, New Jersey. The community gets its name from the Mill Brook. This stream is now called Van Campens Mill Brook. It flows into the Delaware River. Today, Millbrook is part of the beautiful Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
A Look Back in Time: Millbrook's History
Millbrook has a rich history, especially with its old buildings. In 1832, a special kind of mill was built here. This was a grist mill, used for grinding grain into flour. Abram Garis built it on what is now Van Campens Mill Brook.
Historic Homes and Farms
Many old buildings in Millbrook are important. They are part of the Old Mine Road Historic District. This district helps protect historical places.
- The George Trauger House was built around 1860.
- The Colonel Abraham Van Campen House dates back to about 1750.
- The B. B. Van Campen Farm is also known as the Moses Van Campen House. It was built around 1840.
- The Miller House is also called the James Van Campen Farm.
Another Abraham Van Campen House, built around 1790, was moved to Millbrook Village in 1974. This helped preserve it for future generations.
