One of the main attractions is a huge BBC Big Screen. This giant screen often shows live events, sports, and movies. It's like having a big outdoor TV! There's also a large water feature. Kids often enjoy playing near the water, especially on warm days.
Famous Statues
You can find several bronze statues in the square. One well-known statue is of Cary Grant. He was a very famous actor born right here in Bristol. His widow, Barbara Jaynes, helped unveil the statue in 2001.
Other important bronze statues include:
- William Penn: He was an early Quaker and founded the state of Pennsylvania in America.
- William Tyndale: He was an English scholar who translated the Bible into English.
- Thomas Chatterton: He was a talented English poet.
All three of these statues were made by a sculptor named Lawrence Holofcener.
