The Millionaires Band History
How the Group Started
Millionaires began in August 2007. Melissa Marie and Allison Green made their first song using a laptop and a program called GarageBand. They named this song "I Like Money." To share their music, they decided to create a Myspace profile.
They chose the name "Millionaires" to go along with their first song's title. Soon after, Dani Artaud joined the group. Together, they created their second song, which they called "Hoe Down."
Early Performances and Tours
After a few months, Millionaires started performing live shows. They played in their local area and traveled short distances for concerts. They even got to perform at big music festivals. These included Rockin Roots, Bamboozle Left 2008, and Audio Overload 2008.
By July 2008, the group was ready for bigger tours. They went on their first tour across the West Coast. They shared the stage with another band called Breathe Carolina. Later that same month, they led their own tour.
Music and TV Appearances
In July 2008, Millionaires appeared on MTV's TRL. They were part of a show called "On The Radar." This show featured popular bands that were not yet signed to a record label. It was a great way for them to reach more fans.
The girls returned in January and February 2009 for their "Just Got Paid" tour. All the tickets for this tour were sold out. They also created a short song called "Ooh Uh Huh." This song became the theme song for MTV's reality show "A Double Shot At Love" with the Ikki twins. Another one of their songs, "Hey Rich Boy," was used as the theme for MTV's Teen Cribs.
EPs (Extended Plays)
Millionaires have released several EPs. An EP is like a mini-album with fewer songs than a full album. Here are some of their EPs:
