Milo's Hamburgers, often called just Milo's, is a popular fast food restaurant chain. It started in Alabama, United States. Milo Carlton founded the company in 1946, calling it Milo's Hamburger Shop.

As of 2021, Milo's has 20 locations across Alabama. They are famous for their secret-recipe hamburger sauce and their delicious Sweet Tea. Their slogan is "Everybody goes to... Milo's". In 2011, a powerful tornado hit Tuscaloosa and destroyed one Milo's restaurant. But don't worry, a new Milo's was built in a different spot!

The Story of Milo's Hamburgers

How Milo's Began

Milo Carlton opened his first restaurant on April 16, 1946. It was called Milo's Hamburger Shop and was in Birmingham. In 1963, the restaurant moved to a new spot in Birmingham.

Growing the Business

Milo's started letting other people open their own Milo's restaurants in 1983. This is called selling "franchises." The very first franchise opened on February 7, 1983, also in Birmingham.

Since the 1980s, Milo's has also sold its special sweet tea in many states. You can find their tea in places like Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee. In 2002, the part of the company that makes the tea became its own separate business.
