History of Mineral Point
Mineral Point began in the 1850s. It was a place where people mined for lead. The village got its name because of the many valuable minerals found nearby. It was also located along the St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern Railway, which was a railroad line. A post office has been open in Mineral Point since 1858.

Mineral Point is located at 37°56′43″N 90°43′28″W / 37.94528°N 90.72444°W. This means it's in the eastern part of Missouri.
