Mingguang (Chinese: 明光; pinyin: Míngguāng) is a city in China. It is located in the northeast part of Anhui Province. The city used to be called Jiashan County. Mingguang shares a border with Jiangsu province to its northeast and east. It is managed by the larger city of Chuzhou.

Where is Mingguang City?
Mingguang City is located on the northeastern edge of Anhui Province. The Huai River forms part of its border in the northeast.
Neighboring Areas
Mingguang is surrounded by several other areas. To the southeast, it borders Lai'an County. To the south, you'll find Nanqiao District. Dingyuan County is to the southwest, and Fengyang County is to the west. To the northwest, it borders Wuhe County. In the nearby Jiangsu province, Mingguang borders Sihong and Xuyi counties.

Mingguang City is in a region called the Northern Subtropical Zone. This means it has a mild climate. The average temperature throughout the year is about 15 °C (59 °F). The city receives an average of 954.1 mm (about 37.6 inches) of rain each year.

Mingguang City is divided into different areas for local government. It has subdistricts, towns, and one township.
Subdistricts
There are four subdistricts in Mingguang:

Mingguang's People
Most of the people living in Mingguang City belong to the Han ethnic group. In 2015, the total number of people living in Mingguang was about 655,000.

The economy of Mingguang mainly depends on agriculture. This means farming and related businesses are very important here.
