Where Mini Eggs Are Made
Mini Eggs used to be made in a factory in Keynsham, which is in Somerset, U.K. However, in February 2010, the production moved. Now, Cadbury makes Mini Eggs at their newer factory in Bielany Wrocławskie, Poland.
Different Kinds of Mini Eggs
Over the years, Cadbury has created several fun variations of the original Mini Eggs. Here are some of them:
- Shimmer Mini Eggs: These have shiny, metallic-colored shells.
- Popping Mini Eggs: These eggs have a special surprise inside that "pops" when they melt in your mouth.
- Micro Mini Eggs: Introduced in 2007, these are even smaller versions of the regular Mini Eggs.
- White Mini Eggs: These have a white chocolate center and a white shell. They were first sold exclusively at Target stores in 2014.
- Orange Mini Eggs: These have an orange-flavored milk chocolate inside and an orange shell. You can find this special kind only at Tesco stores.
Some Mini Egg varieties, like the Dark Mini Eggs, are no longer made.
The Colors of Mini Eggs
Cadbury Mini Eggs come in different colors, which can vary by country.
- The original colors were white, yellow, pink, and light blue.
- In Canada, the colors changed in 2010 to yellow, pink, green, and turquoise.
- In the U.K., the current colors are white, yellow, pink, and purple, often with speckles on them.
What's Inside Mini Eggs
Mini Eggs are made with milk chocolate. They also contain ingredients that give them their vibrant colors, like extracts from plants such as beetroot and paprika. The chocolate also uses vegetable fats like palm oil and shea butter.
A typical 45-gram box of Mini Eggs contains about 220 calories. They are mostly made of carbohydrates, especially sugar.
